Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include the role of presiding officer of the county’s governing body, Commissioners Court. The judge is the budget officer for the county and is often considered to be the spokesperson and ceremonial head of the county government. The County Judge is elected by the qualified voters for a four-year term.
